Orcan Energy gains first partner for revolutionary electricity free dry cooler in B:Power
Munich, September 12, 2018 – Leading CleanTech company Orcan Energy AG today announced that it has gained the first customer for its electricity free dry cooling device. B:Power, an international engineering consulting firm that provides services in the renewable energy sector, was impressed with the innovative device and now offers this new technology to its clients. For Orcan Energy, the partnership is a successful first step into the billion-euro process cooling market.
The dry cooler is highly flexible and can be used wherever fluids are cooled using ambient air. Examples of this include engines or industrial processes. Unlike conventional dry coolers, the new solution from Orcan Energy uses no electricity. Instead, it generates the electricity needed for operating the device itself with the waste heat of the process.
Leveraging a smart and patented combination of classic dry coolers and innovative Orcan Energy technology, the company has created a flexible system that requires no external operating electricity. The system can be used from inlet temperatures of 65°C and amortizes quickly. There is no need for customers to modify their existing cooling processes. The only difference is that cooling occurs without additional energy consumption. With the new product, Orcan Energy has succeeded in optimizing the efficiency of energy-intensive cooling processes in the industry.
“Our new technology does not affect upstream processes and can replace any conventional dry cooler operating at temperatures from 65°C. In an age of climate change and rising energy prices, our autonomous dry cooler will quickly find success in the market. We have already seen strong interest in our new solution,” says Dr. Andreas Sichert, CEO of Orcan Energy AG.
Jiri Musilek, CEO of B:Power, also praised the new dry cooler: “We were impressed by Orcan Energy’s unique technology right from the start. Efficient operation is an important benefit for anyone who operates heat exchangers.”
Delivery and installation of the first autonomous dry cooler systems will begin in fall 2018.

Orcan Energy AG is a leading European CleanTech company offering efficient energy solutions for the conversion of waste heat into electricity. Orcan Energy AG was founded in 2008 by physicists Dr. Andreas Sichert, Dr. Andreas Schuster and Richard Aumann, with the aim of providing companies from a variety of industry sectors a simple, cost-saving and efficient energy solutions that unlocks the enormous energy potential of unused industrial waste heat sources. Orcan Energy AG currently operates 70 plants in Europe, making it the most widely used provider in the low-temperature sector in Germany. Orcan Energy AG employs 60 people and is headquartered in Munich.
B: POWER, a.s. was established in 2009 as an investment company to carry out investments in the fields of renewable energy. Gradually, the purely investment company became an engineering company that aims to find optimal solutions for customers and deliver power plants in the small power generating sector. B: POWER specializes in waste heat utilization in industry, where it uses state-of-the-art technologies to convert heat to electricity – the ORC systems. Part of the B: POWER complex services is to provide professional service for all of its devices. The company has its own service dispatching centre with detailed monitoring and data management from the individual installations. The company is based in the Czech Republic, Havlíčkův Brod. Since 2017, as a result of growing demand from all over the world, B: POWER's business territory has not been limited to Europe, but also to Asian markets and the Pacific Basin. At the beginning of 2018, B: POWER founded B: POWER Japan, based in Osaka, and it is currently implementing its first project there.
