Orcan Energy AG is a German cleantech company headquartered in Munich that develops turnkey energy efficiency solutions for converting waste heat into clean and cost-effective base load electricity. Waste heat is the world's largest untapped energy resource. Orcan Energy's solutions tap into this enormous potential and enable companies in industries such as cement, metal, automotive, oil and gas, power generation, geothermal energy and shipping to reduce CO₂ emissions while saving costs.
Orcan Energy's core products are its Efficiency-PACKs: modular container-based power plants based on Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology. Designed as plug-and-play systems, they increase the energy efficiency of industrial processes by utilising waste heat from various sources (gaseous, liquid or steam) that would otherwise either escape unused or be actively cooled with air or water.
By using only proven industrial standard components, Orcan Energy's technology guarantees high reliability, easy installation and minimal maintenance. The modular approach enables rapid scalability at limited cost – a commercially attractive solution for industries looking to reduce their electricity costs, increase energy efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions without major infrastructural changes.
Today, more than 600 Orcan Energy energy modules are already in use worldwide, with more than seven million operating hours, making a direct contribution to the energy transition. The modules sold in 2022 alone will save around one million tonnes of CO₂ over their entire service life.

LOCATION – PRODUCTION FACILITY IN KIEL
Our location in Kiel, Orcan Energy Production GmbH, in the StrandOrt industrial area in Kiel-Friedrichsort, is the central production and service centre for our group of companies. From here, we are able to meet the growing global demand for our innovative waste heat power generation solutions particularly efficiently. In an environment with a long industrial tradition, we are shaping the future of sustainable energy technology.
Under the leadership of Managing Directors Jens Damian and Hendrik Christensen, our modular systems are manufactured entirely in-house. This in-house production guarantees the highest quality, enables maximum flexibility and actively contributes to global CO₂ reduction. At the same time, our service team in Kiel looks after our international customer fleet, supported by a comprehensively equipped spare parts warehouse on site.
