Orcan Energy strengthend leadership team with appointment of experienced CFO Patrick Prügger

Munich, 30.07.2024 – Orcan Energy announced today the appointment of Patrick Prügger as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Drawing from his international and industry experience, Patrick is set to play a pivotal part in the company’s ambitious growth and global expansion plans.

Patrick Prügger joins Orcan Energy with an impressive track record in financial management and strategic planning. Having started his career at KPMG, he has served an array of industries throughout his career. During his time at Gericom and KTM, he served as CFO, managing a wide range of tasks for the listed companies. In his last role, he was the CFO of the B&C Group, holding investments in large listed Austrian industrial companies and minority interests in technology growth companies with an industrial focus.

His extensive experience across a range of industries and international markets makes him an ideal fit to support Orcan Energy’s mission of delivering waste heat recovery technologies worldwide. Patrick also brings a deep understanding of the needs of Orcan’ clients. In his new role, Patrick will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. His expertise will be instrumental in shaping Orcan Energy’s financial instruments to meet the high market demand. A particular focus will be to develop innovative, low CAPEX financing solutions to offer the company’s technology to even more clients worldwide.

Patrick Prügger succeeds Marcus Jentsch, who asked the Supervisory Board to terminate his employment contract for personal reasons. The Supervisory Board complied with this request at its meeting on June 27, 2024, and appointed a new Chief Financial Officer with effect from July 1, 2024.

“We are excited to welcome Patrick Prügger. His extensive experience in strategic financial planning and management as well as hands-on delivery will be invaluable as we navigate our next phase of growth. His international network and understanding of our clients’ industries will contribute to our scale-up journey”, said Andreas Sichert, CEO and co-founder of Orcan Energy.

"Patrick has proven to be an excellent CFO who combines strategy with execution. His entrepreneurial mindset coupled with his solution-oriented thinking will be highly beneficial to the company. We’re looking forward to seeing his influence on Orcan Energy and delivering on the ambitious growth plans.

At the same time, we would like to thank Mr. Jentsch most sincerely for his development work, the successful implementation of equity financing and the very good and trusting cooperation over the past few years. We have come to appreciate Marcus Jentsch as an experienced energy and finance expert and wish him all the best for his professional and private future and continued success in new professional challenges," commented Christian Reitberger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

“I am excited to join Orcan Energy at such a dynamic and pivotal time. Scaling waste heat recovery is an important lever for many industries to meet their net zero goals. I’m fully aligned with Orcan’s vision and look forward to working with the talented team to drive financial excellence and support our growth ambitions,” stated Patrick Prügger.
