Orcan Energy takes the next step towards internationalisation: Hermann Röhm becomes Head of Global Power Applications
Munich, August 28, 2020 - Orcan Energy, a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions based on ORC technology, appoints Hermann Röhm (50) as Global Head of Power Applications. Specializing in the use of engine waste heat to increase efficiency and simultaneously reduce CO2 emissions, Orcan Energy's goal is to significantly expand the growing power sector globally. In particular, areas with a low level of infrastructure and decentralized energy supply are to be equipped with ORC systems to ensure sustainable and efficient power generation with engines. Hermann Röhm comes from GENERAC / PRAMAC, where he was General Manager Asia/Pacific for the past two years. Before that, he worked for MTU Friedrichshafen in various management positions for over 20 years, including five years as Head of Sales for Asia/Pacific.
"With over 200 systems sold worldwide, Orcan Energy is the leader in the conversion of waste heat into electricity. Due to the dramatic increase in energy demand, improving energy efficiency is a top priority everywhere, which is increasing the demand for our products worldwide. Thanks to his many years of experience in our target markets, we are convinced that Hermann Röhm will play a decisive role in driving our growth and internationalization," says Andreas Sichert, CEO of Orcan Energy.
As Head of Power Applications, Hermann Röhm sees global power applications based on gas, diesel or heavy oil engines as well as gasturbines as the main focus in order to equip them with Orcan technology. Following the installation of the world's unique 90 megawatt power plant park with 70 ORC products in Southeast Asian Myanmar, further projects of this kind are to follow. In addition, a recently launched cooperation with MAN in the above-mentioned countries is to be strengthened and expanded.
"Orcan technology has huge potential to reduce harmful emissions worldwide. I am very much looking forward to working with the entire team to make the intelligent products known worldwide and to implement them on a large scale," says Hermann Röhm.
